Program Length:

  • Two years
  • Early Completion Option (ECO) (information below)

Program Participants Will Receive:

  • Two years of ongoing support by an experienced, trained mentor, for at least one hour per week, matched specifically to the program candidate in terms of teaching credential and/or teaching assignment. The mentor match will be provided within the first 30 days of enrollment within the program.
  • Individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring and support to build a reflective teaching practice, based on the candidate’s professional growth goal and evidence collected on the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)  
  • Opportunities to be active researchers with students who are historically underserved

Early Completion Option  

The CTC-approved Charter School of San Diego Teacher Induction Program provides the Early Completion Option (ECO) to all qualifying program participants. All Teacher Induction candidates enrolled in the program are apprised of the opportunity to apply for this option. This option is intended to serve experienced and exceptional candidates. Upon acceptance to the ECO Pathway, candidates will complete year one ILP and final portfolio.

Early Completion Option (ECO) Eligibility 

  • Two teacher evaluations with the equivalent of “Exceeds Expectations” on all criteria; Both evaluations must have been within the last five years and at least one must be within last two years.  
  • Three or more years of successful full-time classroom teaching experience, as a teacher of record in a K-12 teaching assignment (excludes internships, student teaching, shared teaching, or substitute teaching).  Verification of this employment is required from HR or Administrator on school letterhead with name, years of teaching and a brief description of teaching position(s). Note: Candidates must supply Verification of Employment from each separate employer listed.
  • Recommendation from current School Coordinator verifying classroom management and creation and delivery of effective and equitable lessons as exceptional and therefore satisfactory to eliminate the year of work and reflection for improved practice.
